Claire Matthews

With over 22 years’ experience in the employability sector, Claire has worked across a wide range of government-funded contracts, supporting individuals to overcome barriers, build confidence and move closer to sustainable employment.

Throughout her career, she has held a variety of roles including JCP Work Coach, Employability Advisor, Senior Advisor, Lead Tutor, Project Navigator, Onboarding & Engagement Manager (JETS – Maximus), and Operations Manager (Restart). This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of front-line delivery, programme design, and strategic performance management.

In her current role at The Education People, Claire leads the IPS Employment Delivery Team across Kent and Medway and serves as MAPPA Lead for Specialist Employment Support. She also has experience managing the National Careers Service contract across the region.

Highly skilled in performance management, Claire uses Excel and Power BI to monitor, analyse and drive continuous improvement. A self-confessed spreadsheet enthusiast, she combines data insight with a practical, people-focused approach to achieve outstanding results.

Proactive, reliable and passionate about helping others, Claire takes pride in building strong relationships at all levels, fostering community partnerships, and maintaining high standards of quality and assurance across all areas of delivery.
