Katie currently provides external consultancy support for close to 30 schools in Kent and a number of schools in East Sussex. Part of this work has included support for schools in challenging circumstances, working with leaders to effectively plan and deliver on rapid school improvement.

Katie has over 15 years senior leadership experience and has a background of working in primary schools for over 20 years. She has improved the outcomes for numerous pupils – particularly vulnerable learners, in a number of previous schools she has worked with and supported. She is a trained SENCO, has been Head of School and up until recently, a headteacher in a school with a high level of SEND, PPG, EAL and challenging behaviour, where she successfully led to rapid school improvement results.

Katie has also been involved in school governance for many years, as a headteacher, and as a staff governor. Part of her current role is to work with governors as part of headteacher recruitment and headteacher appraisal processes.

Katie has a passionate belief that young people, particularly those who are vulnerable, are entitled to receive a first class, inclusive and supportive experience, every day. She sees high expectations, a positive and nurturing culture and clear communication as keys to driving school improvement for a child of any ability and background.
