Niall Leyden

Niall is a highly regarded expert when it comes to the outdoors. He has been working in education and outdoor learning for over 30 years as a teacher, outdoor instructor, outdoor centre manager and outdoor education adviser, he has been a valued member of The Education People since 2018.

Niall has been instrumental in supporting schools, youth groups and other organisations in developing best practice for outdoor learning, adventurous activities and managing education visits and activities.

As well as supporting and encouraging schools and groups to develop adventure activities such as climbing, paddle sports, and Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions, Niall's passion lies in helping schools to link outdoor learning to their everyday teaching, learning, and curriculum-based activities. Niall is skilled at empowering schools to 'see' and use their local area and school grounds to make outdoor learning accessible for everyone and a regular part of the school day and school life.

Niall's in-depth knowledge around outdoor activities is wide and comprehensive, he is only too happy to impart this knowledge and expertise to support schools who are looking to develop their outdoor offer and bring the outdoors to life for their pupils.
