Steve Rawling

Steve is a valued member of The Education People, holding a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He combines deep cultural insight with a practical understanding of how people learn. Steve also holds a Level 3 qualification in Education and Training, as well as a Level 3 Wild Beach Training qualification, enabling him to design and deliver impactful learning in both classroom and outdoor environments.

With over ten years’ experience as a professional archaeologist, Steve brings a unique perspective to his work—rooted in exploration, discovery, and hands-on engagement. This experience enriches his ability to develop creative educational opportunities, particularly for settings looking to spark curiosity and connect learning to the wider world.

Steve’s role also sees him support settings to embed Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into their day-to-day practice through an online programme. He provides both in-house and online training, alongside bespoke advice and guidance on practical actions providers can take to integrate ESD.

Passionate about using his skills to help settings deliver inspiring, cross-curricular learning experiences, Steve is committed to supporting providers whether they are seeking to broaden the curriculum, bring history and heritage to life, embed sustainability, or explore innovative approaches to outdoor learning.
