Tel is a highly experienced education professional, bringing over 35 years of expertise across teaching, leadership, and system-wide school improvement. With more than 25 years as a senior education adviser, she plays a key role in supporting and strengthening educational provision across a wide range of settings. She is a specialist in school improvement and strategic leadership, with particular expertise in supporting schools in crisis.

Beginning her career in the classroom, Tel has taught across the primary age range, from EYFS through to Year 6. During this time, she held a variety of leadership roles, including SENCO, Deputy Headteacher, and Headteacher, developing a strong foundation in school leadership and inclusive practice.

Tel subsequently moved into local authority work, where she served as a consultant headteacher, senior improvement adviser, and principal lead adviser. As part of this work, she acted as an advisory headteacher for 14 schools, taking on schools in crisis and supporting them to move out of inspection categories.

Building on this experience, Tel established her own education company, providing support to schools across Kent, East Sussex, and Leeds, before returning to Kent to work with The Education People, leading school effectiveness for pupils aged 4 to 16. She is currently the Strategic Lead for school improvement across primary, secondary, special, and PRU settings, and leads on the delivery of school improvement contracts.

In her current role, Tel provides strategic oversight of school improvement, including consultancy services and teams of education advisers across primary, secondary, special schools, and PRUs. She also oversees key areas such as equalities, RISE, governance, and teacher development. Her work includes auditing provision, developing rapid action plans, and driving rapid improvement, with a strong focus on self-evaluation.

Alongside her senior leadership responsibilities, Tel still continues to offer direct support to schools across Kent, East Sussex, and West Sussex, maintaining a strong connection to practice and ensuring that her work remains grounded in the needs of schools and pupils.
