Supporting Focus in the EYFS

Audience: Primary
Single session
  • Foundation

About this course

The session will explore how to support and enable children to develop and sustain the ability to focus, as a vital skill in becoming an effective learner.

Far from being ‘innate’ this is a learned – and therefore teachable – skill and is particularly pertinent for children entering EYFS at an early stage of development. The Neuroscientific basis to supporting this identifies a range of strategies and actions that can effectively address the development of this.

What you'll take away

Participants will understand the nature of cognitive focus and the considerations, strategies and techniques that can enable and support this.
