About this course

This course is designed to equip you with strategies and understanding to support new arrivals coming into your school with English as an additional language.

Ofsted's new inspection framework formally prioritises EAL provision - focusing on how schools support pupils at early language stages.

What you'll take away

  • Participants will look at supportive induction strategies for refugee and newly arrived pupils with EAL - including complete beginners.

  • Participants will look at strategies and tools to support these pupils in the classroom.
