Taking KS2 Pupils From WTS to EXS in Writing

Brief overview

This face-to-face course aims to assist KS2 class teachers to move pupils to the age-related standard in writing, where that is appropriate for the children. Teachers will consider the most effective pedagogies and activities to help the children reach their potential, including  elements such as meaningful editing, beneficial feedback, and sound planning for learning outcomes. They will also have the opportunity to share their pupils' writing books with teachers from other schools, in order to search for next steps for the children. The focus will be limited to pupils moving from the Working Towards Standard to the Expected Standard.
